Paolo Reyna will be the big absentee in FBC Melgar's lineup for their visit to Independiente del Valle on Wednesday, for the Copa Sudamericana. The good left back is suspended for accumulating yellow cards. The big question now is who will take his place in the defensive zone.
The first names that come to mind are Matías Lazo and Alec Deneumostier. One of the two could play on the left and the other would stay in the central defense position. There is no other player who has played in that position unless the coach has been working with someone special and surprises us.
Lazo, another young player, is the one with the best chances of replacing Reyna, since he is comfortable with both legs and is constantly active. In the last game, he played as a right back.

On the other hand, knowing that an away draw would be valuable, Melgar could set up their midfield with three defensive players and three attacking players. That's why they could once again bring together Arias, Orzán, and Tandazo in the front line and Pérez Guedes, Iberico, and Cuesta up top, looking for a goal.
Melgar trained on Sunday, August 28th and will also do so on Monday, August 29th at UNSA stadium. At noon on Monday, they will begin their journey to Quito.
