It has been confirmed that Peru will host the Punta Rocas Open Pro. This event, which is part of the World Surf League (WSL), includes competitions in three (3) categories: Open QS1000, Longboard, and Juniors, for both men and women, who will participate in the event from November 15th to 20th.
The gathering, which will bring together the top 200 athletes from Latin America, will take place at the Punta Rocas High-Performance Center (CAR), which was inaugurated in 2019 for the Pan American Games.
"We are not really aware of the luck we have. Lima is the only capital in the continent right by the sea, which generates a very special connection with nature. It is for this reason that we bring a world-class event to our country, to experience a sports celebration that continues to bring us joy, as Peruvian surfing has accustomed us. We Peruvians are from the sea, let's always be," says Sebastián Rubio, general director of the Punta Rocas Open Pro.
The Punta Rocas Open Pro will distribute over 100,000 soles in prizes among all categories. This championship will allow our athletes to continue climbing in the regional and global rankings of the WSL. It is worth noting that this tournament will be decisive in determining who will finish in the top positions regionally in the Pro Junior and Longboard categories for men and women.
