In the recent Council of Ministers, it was confirmed that Chiclayo, Piura, Tacna, Lima, and Callao will host this competition.

The head of the Council of Ministers, Aníbal Torres Vásquez, announced the bill that dictates measures to manage investments and other activities related to the FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2023.

The document will be sent to the Congress of the Republic for approval in order to expedite the procedures for the intervention of the Peruvian state in stadiums in the interior of the country that are considered as venues for this competition.

"We need to accelerate activities to put the places where this sport will be developed in good condition," said the head of the PCM.

"The FIFA U-17 World Cup Peru 2023 is a sporting event that concentrates the interest of various countries and will contribute to tourism in our country and boost the economy, which means a factor that stimulates economic, financial, and social development that generates increased job opportunities, tourism promotion, foreign exchange earnings, all of which reflects an improvement in the quality of life of the population and the country in general," he added.

In addition, Torres Vásquez confirmed the cities that will host this international championship. "The venues for this competition are Piura, Chiclayo, Lima, Callao, and Tacna; this is because FIFA has a rule that these events must take place in locations that do not exceed two thousand meters in altitude," he said.

Similarly, it was reported that the Legacy project will be responsible for the conditioning of the football stadiums and training fields, just as it happened with the infrastructure of the Lima 2019 Bolivarian Games.

The Executive has created a multi-sector working group to develop the plan that will enable the hosting of this sporting event.

In the coming weeks, a delegation from FIFA will arrive in Peru to inspect the progress in the efforts related to this World Cup.

As it is remembered, the president of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), Agustín Lozano Saavedra, has held several meetings with the president of the Republic, Pedro Castillo Terrones, in order to manage the feasibility for the realization of the World Cup.
