New joy of surfing for all of Peru. The athletes representing the country continue to shine and, whenever they can, they leave the nation at the top. This Tuesday, Vania Torres and Tamil Martino qualified for the SUP (Stand Up Paddle) final in the Pan American Games of this sport.

Like on Monday, Peruvian Vania Torres had an outstanding performance maneuvering the paddleboard and scored 13 in the semifinals. This allowed her to reach the decisive stage, where she will fight for the gold medal against the Brazilians Gabriela Sztamfater and Aline Adisaka and the Argentine Lucía Cosoleto.

On the other hand, in the men's category, Tamil Martino shone on Venao Beach and scored 10.53, also in the semifinals. In the final, the Peruvian will face the Brazilians Luiz Diniz and Leonardo Gimenes and the Mexican Felipe Rodríguez.

Vania Torres and Tamil Martino, silver medalists at the Lima 2019 Pan American Games, will seek to stand at the top of the podium in the grand final of their discipline on Wednesday, at the event that brings together 300 surfers from seventeen countries.

"We are in the final. Our surf team members, Vania Torres and Tamil Martino, qualified for the SUP SURF final at the Pan American Surfing Championship in Panama. After two days of competition, tomorrow our representatives go for the podium at Playa Venao," celebrated the Peruvian Institute of Sport (IPD) on Twitter.
