With a view to the next season, there are several football players who would stop wearing the Sporting Cristal jersey and would already be making Roberto Mosquera think.

Although the 2022 season is not over yet, Sporting Cristal is already facing a problem with 10 players from the current squad, as their contracts are nearing expiration and it is unknown whether they will be renewed with the institution.

These players are Joffré Escobar, Irven Ávila, Christopfer Olivares, Yoshimar Yotún, Alejandro Hohberg, Horacio Calcaterra, Nilson Loyola, Alejandro Duarte, Rafael Lutiger, and Omar Merlo.

All of the aforementioned only have a contract with the club until December 31, 2022, so it is still uncertain whether they will continue playing for the "celeste" team next year.

If we analyze all of these players, most of them are regular starters for coach Roberto Mosquera, except for newcomers Joffré Escobar and forward Christopher Olivares, who have been used as substitutes in recent matches.

One true uncertainty is regarding popular 'Yoshi', because the 32-year-old midfielder has repeatedly shown his desire to play abroad, but despite his attempts in the last two transfer windows, he has been unsuccessful in finding another club and has had to stay with the team from Rímac.

Alejandro Hohberg is an unknown

It should be noted that for several months there have been speculations that Alejandro Hohberg could be one of those leaving Sporting Cristal, as he has not been able to shine as he did in Alianza Lima or Universitario de Deportes since joining in 2021. However, we will have to wait and see if this happens in the coming months.
