The Peruvian national team officially announced Juan Reynoso as their new head coach, which caused various comments, both positive and negative, among the fans. However, hours after 'Cabezón' was announced, another person related to the Blanquirroja was seen arriving in Peru, and it is none other than Paulo Autuori.
Why did our former coach arrive in Lima?
YOU CAN SEE Sporting Cristal will play at the Alberto Gallardo Stadium again.
Every time we hear the name of the Brazilian, we can't help but remember his time with the national team, from 2003 to 2005. In addition, Autuori knows the Peruvian soccer very well as he won the championship with Alianza Lima in 2001 and with Sporting Cristal in 2002, so many people related his arrival to a position within the Peruvian Football Federation.
However, here we tell you the real reason why he is in the Peruvian capital and it has nothing to do with our Blanquirroja. It turns out that Paulo Autuori is currently not coaching any team, but he is still involved in high-level soccer.
The Brazilian arrived in Lima with the squad of Internacional de Porto Alegre because he is the sports director of the mentioned team, so he had the obligation to accompany the team on their trip to Peru, as they will soon face Melgar de Arequipa in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana quarterfinals.
"It's very good for me to come here, see my friends. Peru will always be in my heart, I'm sure I miss it a lot and we'll have a ceviche to start. I remember all the Peruvians and friends I have made here, there are so many," Autuori said after arriving in Peru.
As you may recall, Internacional will travel to the 'Ciudad Blanca' for the crucial match on Thursday, August 4 against 'Dominó'. The second leg will take place on the following Thursday, August 11 at Estádio José Pinheiro Borda, located in Porto Alegre.
