Thousands of Peruvian families are being affected by the current rise in the price of basic consumer goods and the scarcity of fertilizers, which is why the Peruvian government will grant the food bonus of S/ 300.
As reported by the Ministry of Economy and Finance (MEF) Minister, Oscar Graham, in no more than two weeks (mid-July), the first measure regarding this new subsidy will be announced, however, the delivery depends on the approval of the supplementary credit requested from Congress.
As it was mentioned, a few days ago, the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) announced that the Executive will provide this food bonus with an investment of S/ 400 million monthly and will last for three months.
Who will be the beneficiaries
On the other hand, the Minister of the MEF informed that the delivery of the bonus will have two stages: the first one will be towards the 1.5 million beneficiaries of social programs and the second one, through an updated registry being carried out by the Ministry of Development and Social Inclusion (Midis).
"Now Midis is in the process of updating them to make it a more targeted intervention for those segments that need it", added Oscar Graham.
When will it be delivered
As we have already mentioned, the head of the ministry mentioned last Friday that the delivery of the food bonus depends on the approval of the supplementary credit requested from the Congress of the Republic.
On the other hand, last Monday, the Budget and General Account Committee of Congress approved the Executive's request for financing the new bonus. Now the bill must go to the Permanent Committee for debate and final approval.
