The Peruvian national team is without a coach, after Ricardo Gareca decided to step down after 8 years. That's why the search is now on for a new coach at La Videna, preferably of Argentine nationality.

A few weeks ago, Defensa y Justicia coach Sebastián Beccacece was linked to the Peruvian national team, however, the President of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) took it upon himself to deny that rumor.

"We haven't considered Sebastián Beccacece or anyone else. We have only thought about Ricardo Gareca's continuity," Lozano said a few days ago.

However, now, according to TyC Sports newspaper, the Peruvian national team has reportedly approached Argentine coaches Hernán Crespo and Santiago Solari.

Crespo is under contract with Al Duhail in Qatar until June 2023; he replaced Portuguese coach Luis Castro. Meanwhile, Solari is currently without a club, as the last team he coached was Club América in Mexico.
