However, in the last hours, it was known that Agustín Lozano, president of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), would have a final meeting with the Argentine strategist.
Amidst this, it seems that the FPF already has a plan B in case the departure of the 'Tigre' is confirmed. According to journalist Horacio Zimmermann from Movistar Deportes, officials from the highest entity of Peruvian football would have met with the lawyer of Hernán Crespo, who currently manages Al-Duhail SC from the Qatar league.
This name adds to other coaches who have been mentioned as possible replacements for Gareca in the National Team. Among them are Sebastián Beccacece, Jorge Sampaoli, and Juan Reynoso.

Who is Hernán Crespo?
Hernán Crespo is a 47-year-old former Argentine footballer. Currently, he manages Al-Duhail SC from Qatar. He began his coaching career in the youth divisions of Parma in Italy.
Later, he took charge of Modena in Serie B, Banfield, and Defensa y Justicia, a club in which he had his best performance and won the Copa Sudamericana in 2021.
After this successful campaign, he was announced as the coach of Sao Paulo in Brazil. In this team, he won the Paulista Championship at the beginning of the year. However, in October 2021, he was fired due to poor results.
