For that reason, the national team manager, Antonio García Pye, referred to this issue and stated that the players only received visits from their relatives during permitted hours.

"Half of the first floor was blocked for conference rooms and meals, and there was a lobby for the players to receive visits from their relatives during permitted hours," he said on Radio Ovación.

Similarly, Pye mentioned that beyond the people who were inside the hotel, precautions were always taken to avoid any indiscipline. "Furthermore, we had exclusive elevators, regardless of the number of people in the hotel, there was no way to avoid it, but precautions were always taken," he explained.

About the friendly match against Mexico

On the other hand, García Pye revealed the planning that the FPF has regarding the friendly match against Mexico, stating that they are evaluating having a charter flight.

"We are estimating that about 50 people will leave Lima and about 15 players will go directly there. We are evaluating the charter or commercial flight, always seeking the best for the team. The idea is to leave on the 18th to arrive on the 19th and receive the arriving players," he said.

Will there be another friendly match?

Similarly, Antonio confessed that no other friendly match has been scheduled yet and made it clear that this decision depends a lot on the organizing company.

"Any decision depends a lot on the organizing company, and that same company will have to analyze the conditions of the opponent, they have to evaluate that more than us, but that goes through filters that we do not manage," he revealed.

Antonio García Pye could leave the FPF

Finally, Antonio García Pye revealed that his contract with the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) is until the end of 2022, so his continuity is not yet assured.

"My contract is until the end of the year, in December my contract with the Peruvian Football Federation ends. We have to wait, first we have to know the intentions of the bosses, and based on that we have to see. How strong it is, in terms of health, intention, and spirit, and many other things, it has to be evaluated," he concluded.
