The Peruvian national team traveled with 28 players to Doha for the World Cup playoff against Australia, but only 23 were chosen for the match. The players who were left out of the final squad are Yoshimar Yotún, Jairo Concha, Christian Ramos, Gabriel Costa and Raziel García, who will have to settle for cheering from the stands.
Of the five, 'Yoshi's' case is special, as it was not a strictly technical decision, but rather due to the physical problems that the midfielder has been dealing with since the friendly against New Zealand, which was played earlier this month.
Concha and Ramos, on the other hand, were excluded because there were better options in midfield and defense, respectively. Costa and García, on the other hand, could not make it into the squad because their positions are well covered both by the starters and the substitutes.
