One day before the match against Australia for the playoff, Ricardo Gareca was not convinced about Yoshimar Yotún's starting position in the Peruvian National Team. The midfielder will be evaluated in the following hours and his inclusion from the start will be determined on the day of the match.
"Tapia and Advíncula are fully recovered. In general, everyone is fine. Regarding Yotún, we are going to wait until tomorrow, we believe he will arrive well, but we will wait until tomorrow to have a final word and from there make a decision," said Gareca about Yotún, who has not been training normally with his teammates in recent days.
"In case Yotún is not available, we will see, Christofer is a highly recognized player for us and is a very viable option for us to consider. In this aspect, all the guys are very prepared," he added.
It was known that the Sporting Cristal player was not able to work alongside his teammates, so he did separate exercises at the AlSaad Sports Stadium.
Yotún started against Australia and suffered a calf strain after the match.
