No better way to start the year than with goals. And even more so if yours was the first one. Edison Flores scored the first goal for Universitario de Deportes in 2016 and is very happy with the great moment that the team is experiencing.

"I am happy with the victory obtained in Ayacucho, in a difficult field and climate. Now we are thinking about the other match (Juan Aurich) that will be equally difficult," said Edison Flores after finishing the training sessions of Universitario de Deportes.

In 2015, Edison Flores closed a season with 33 games and only 4 goals. 'Orejas' from Universitario de Deportes knows that if he wants to improve his capacity as an offensive midfielder, he will have to score many more goals.

"I always hope to have goal opportunities in each match and be able to take advantage of them more," added the midfielder from Universitario de Deportes. "I hope to have the majority of goals this year. It has to be my year," he added.

Universitario de Deportes has the top scorer of the Tournament: Diego Guastavino. Despite having only played a game together for the first time, Edison Flores knows that the team's scoring ability will improve with 'Guasta'. "I only got to know Diego (Guastavino) this year. I'm playing alongside him and we are understanding each other," he concluded.
