Agustín Lozano referred to the U-17 World Cup: "It is a brilliant opportunity to strengthen sports."

The president of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), Agustín Lozano, stated that organizing the U-17 World Cup, which was postponed from 2021 to 2023, in our country implies benefits. The boss explained this after receiving the guarantees from the Government of Peru for the celebration of the tournament next year.

"Beyond putting the country in the eyes of the world and generating a great economic movement in favor of the country, being the host of this World Cup will leave a great sporting legacy in infrastructure that is much needed in various regions of the country. It is a brilliant opportunity to strengthen sports, providing young people and football lovers with infrastructure with great conditions to develop this beloved discipline," he said for the FPF website.

"We have fulfilled our obligation to communicate this letter from the president to FIFA, and in the coming days we will receive the visit of those responsible for evaluating the regions that are under consideration to be World Cup hosts. We will work hand in hand with the government, the Ministry of Education, the Peruvian Sports Institute, and competent professionals who can help us move the World Cup forward," he added.

Additionally, he pointed out that our country has hosted international competitions in previous years. "Peru hosted the U-17 World Cup in 2005, we held the Copa America in 2004, and various international events of great importance," he explained.

"I believe that Peru has shown on more than one occasion that it is capable of organizing international tournaments. On this occasion, it will be a brilliant opportunity to do it with more experience and achieve better positive results in favor of the country," he affirmed.
