The 2022 Futsal World Down Championship ended and the Peruvian team had an important participation. The tournament that took place over ten days at Videna had the Brazilian team as the winner; and, while congratulating the champion, the President of the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), Agustín Lozano, highlighted the work of the 'Blanquirroja'.
En un mensaje que publicó en sus redes sociales, Lozano felicitó a los jugadores peruanos por su participación. "The boys from the Futsal Down team have given us immense joy in the World Cup held at the Videna Velodrome. They beat Mexico, Argentina and Uruguay with good play and attitude, raising our colors high", said the President of the FPF.
En un mensaje que publicó en sus redes sociales, Lozano felicitó a los jugadores peruanos por su participación. "Los chicos de la selección de Futsal Down nos han regalado una inmensa alegría en la Copa Mundial que se realizó en el Velódromo de la Videna. Le ganaron a México, Argentina y Uruguay con buen juego y actitud, dejando en alto nuestros colores", indicó el presidente de la FPF.
"From the beginning, the Peruvian Football Federation supported them with logistical support to wear the official attire and practice in our facilities. The Peruvian Football Federation will continue to promote inclusion and equal opportunities. Together we will achieve it", Lozano added.
Brazil was proclaimed champion of the World Cup
The Brazilian team managed to win the title, after imposing themselves with category throughout their performances at the Velodrome administered by the Legacy Project.
In the grand final, the 'Scratch' showed their offensive strength, achieving a resounding 5-1 victory over their Argentine counterpart. In this way, the Brazilian representatives become champions for the second time, in the third World Cup of the category.
The Futsal Down World Cup 2022 concluded with an emotional closing ceremony, in which the Executive Director of Legacy, Federico Tong Hurtado; the President of the National Council for the Integration of Persons with Disabilities (CONADIS), Marco Antonio Gamarra; the President of the Down Collective Peru, Gissely Alvarado Ramírez; among other national and international authorities participated.
In addition to Brazil, the podium was completed by Argentina and Turkey, while Portugal obtained fourth place. On the other hand, the Peruvian futsal down team, led by coach Giancarlo Zárate, finished in sixth place, after losing to Mexico.
