Cienciano from Cusco made several hirings to face the Liga 1 Betsson and the Copa Sudamericana. One of the reinforcements for the Cusco team is Carlos Beltrán. The defender gave an interview for Gol Perú and stated that his arrival at 'Papá' was thanks to coach Gerardo Ameli.
"At the end of this year's tournament, I spoke to Gerardo Ameli, a coach I had already worked with at Sport Rosario, and he asked me if I wanted to be with them, and I said 'yes', it was a good idea. I'm traveling on Sunday to start training with them on Monday," he said.
Furthermore, he indicated that Ayacucho FC offered him to renew for the next season, but he already had a verbal agreement with the Argentine strategist. "They told me very late. I had already given my word to Gerardo. My word is fundamental to me. I'm going to a super nice club, where I already was in 2015. I had a great time in Cusco."
