This Tuesday Peru will face Venezuela in the double round of the Qualifiers and, prior to the match, Rafael Romo, goalkeeper of the 'vinotinto', referred to this important match to be played in Caracas.
"We are working to improve and change the image we have given of a fragile defense at times. Against Peru, a different image will be shown," said Romo in a press conference.
He also specifically referred to Gianluca Lapadula, striker of the 'blanquirroja': "We know that Lapadula is a forward with a lot of mobility. Measures are being taken to counteract those characteristics."
Regarding the responsibility of guarding the Venezuelan goal, Romo added: "In the national team, we all have the ability to face it in the best possible way. We have three quality goalkeepers. Wuilker (Fariñez) and Joel (Graterol) are young, they have played in foreign leagues and have grown rapidly for the position."
It should be noted that, so far, the blanquirrojo team is in seventh place in the standings with 14 points, two points less than the qualifying position held by Chile and Colombia with 16 points in fourth and fifth place, respectively.
