Peru's winning streak comes to an end
In a high-intensity start, the Peruvian national team went out in search of victory and found the advantage within minutes of the start of the match for the Qatar 2022 Qualifiers. Gianluca Lapadula, the Benevento striker, was responsible for scoring the first goal. He found a ball in the opponent's area and put Peru ahead 1-0.
The goal came thanks to an individual action by Christian Cueva. The skillful midfielder took the mark of three opponents and passed the ball to Christofer Gónzales, who quickly passed it to the Serie B forward. After a rebound off the Bolivian defender, the Italo-Peruvian striker found himself facing the goalkeeper Carlos Lampe and scored a great goal, making the roar of the crowd echo in the Estadio Nacional.
It is worth mentioning that a few minutes after the goal, the number 9 of the national team scored a goal that was disallowed by the referee. This did not discourage Ricardo Gareca's team, and they would find the temporary advantage in the next play.

With this result, the national team is in seventh place in the continental tournament with 14 points. In the next match, they will have the difficult task of securing a new victory against Venezuela in Caracas.
On the other hand, Gianluca Lapadula scored his first goal in the qualifiers. The 31-year-old player has three goals with the national team, all of them in the Copa America Brazil 2021, and against the high-altitude opponents, he breaks a negative record of nine matches without shaking the net.
