His present is uncertain. After returning to the Peruvian National Team and participating in the match against Chile for the Qatar 2022 qualifiers, Captain Paolo Guerrero was excluded from the rest of the October triple date due to discomfort in his right knee, which suffered an anterior cruciate ligament tear 14 months ago.
The case of Paolo Guerrero is under consideration, as SC Internacional announced that the Peruvian requested permission to address personal matters related to his knee. In response, his club stated that they will seek the termination of his contract.
"Sport Club Internacional announces that athlete Paolo Guerrero has requested leave to attend to private matters. The club and the athlete's staff are meeting to discuss the contractual relationship in a friendly manner. Once there is a concrete decision regarding the player's future, we will announce it," the institution announced.
Paolo Guerrero traveled to Germany
The presence of Paolo Guerrero for the matches of the Peruvian National Team in November for the qualifiers is practically ruled out. Meanwhile, the 37-year-old forward traveled to Germany and, according to RPP, the trip is related to visiting one of his children.
It is not yet decided whether the player will address his knee issue in Germany, but it is also not ruled out.
He only has a little over two months left on his contract with Internacional in Brazil, but he would not continue playing for the 'Colorado' club, where he arrived in 2018 and scored 32 goals.
