Pirate FC: the 'corsairs' would be the first to be relegated if they lose to Cantolao and if San Martín or Sport Boys win [PHOTOS AND VIDEOS]

Viernes 01 de Noviembre del 2019

With only 21 points in the accumulated, Pirata FC needs to add the three points this afternoon against Cantolao, in order to not sink prematurely in the Liga 1.

Pirate FC is one step away from relegation. After only five wins and nine draws throughout the season, the 'corsairs' are close to 'shipwrecking' in Liga 1 and this afternoon they could define their stay in the First Division. The situation is adverse and they can only stay if these results are fulfilled.

The lambayecans need to earn three points against Cantolao to accumulate options, but it's not just this. They will have to wait for the results obtained by Sport Boys tonight against Melgar and University San Martin against Cesar Vallejo, on Sunday in Trujillo.

If Sport Boys win (they face Melgar) or San Martin earns three points (they clash against Cesar Vallejo) and Pirate FC loses to Cantolao, then the Chiclayo team will automatically lose their category.

Pay attention to a detail. Pirate FC could also lose points due to punishment from the FPF, because of the debt they owe to their players.

Pirate FC has not won a match in the last four rounds. They lost to Alianza Lima at Matute, drew against Sport Boys, then couldn't beat Sporting Cristal and Cesar Vallejo in the Liga 1 Clausura Tournament.

Along with Pirate FC, San Martin, Sport Boys and Deportivo Municipal are also involved in the relegation issue. The 'ediles', for example, are obliged to defeat Universitario de Deportes at the Estadio Nacional.
