The sports manager of Universidad San Martín expressed his dissatisfaction with the approval of the new statutes.

After the new statutes approved in the Peruvian Football Federation, the sports manager of San Martín University, Álvaro Barco, stated that he wants to create a new league with the most representative clubs in the country.

"We are going to fight to have an autonomous league and the support of television is going to be key. Universitario, Alianza Lima, and Sporting Cristal are the locomotives of Peruvian football and you can't think of a Peruvian championship without them. We have to be united to achieve it," said Álvaro Barco in Las Voces del Fútbol.

It should be noted that the statutes of the FPF were approved this Monday with 34 votes in favor and 7 against. The representatives of Real Garcilaso and Deportivo Binacional were absent from the meeting.

The members who voted against were Alianza Lima, Sporting Cristal, Universitario de Deportes, San Martín University, Melgar, Ayacucho FC, and the Departmental of La Libertad.
