Alliance Lima continues to fight for the Clausura Tournament title.
The blanquiazules are one point behind the leader, Universitario de Deportes.
Alliance Lima forward Federico Rodriguez referred to the team's current situation and praised Pablo Bengoechea's work.
"Pablo Bengoechea came to Alliance Lima in 2017 and won the championship. The following year, they finished second and now we are fighting for the championship in the top positions. I don't think it's a coincidence that we have been competing for the title for three consecutive years. You may disagree with the style, but I am convinced that results matter in football," said Federico Rodriguez on Fox Sports Radio Peru.
The Uruguayan forward highlighted Alliance Lima's squad and assured that there is internal competition in each game of the tournament.
"We are convinced that we can become champions, but we also know that there are very competitive teams. We trust the players' performance. The internal competition is tough, as the coach doesn't repeat line-ups in each game," he explained.
