If there is a common trait shared by many professional football players, it is that some time ago, when they still dreamed of reaching first division, their most important challenge was not football-related, their most important battle was against the lacks and needs that life posed to them day by day. A constant in the formative stage of Felipe Rodriguez and Brian Lozano, who not only understood each other almost by heart on the field, but also did so off the pitch, with a friendship that lasts for years.
Brian and 'Felucho' coincided in Defensor Sporting in 2015 and 2016. The current Alianza Lima player arrived at the violet team months after Lozano had debuted in the first division. Since they came together on the field, they understood each other perfectly. The second half of 2015 was their best moment, they excelled in the Copa Sudamericana and aroused the interest of several clubs abroad.
Both not only understood each other very well on the field. With the passing of time, they have forged a friendship that persists to this day. And the fact is that both have many things in common, which may have brought them even closer.
Lozano, from a very young age, saved money to be able to go to training. And when the economy was not enough, he rode his bicycle. He never arrived late to any training session and never missed a practice. His effort and sacrifice were focused on getting out of his neighborhood, which was a quite dangerous place. His dream was to be able to buy a house for his family.
On the other hand, Felipe Rodriguez came to Uruguay from the United States, the country where his parents reside. He arrived in the Uruguayan country completely undocumented, staying at his grandmother's house in a ‘Villa’ and went through many hardships in his early years as a youth player. He still remembers the cold showers and all the difficulties he had to go through to get to training.
Today fate brings them together again, Brian Lozano came to our country as part of the Uruguayan team preparing for tomorrow's clash against Peru. 'Felucho' did not want to miss the opportunity and approached the concentration place of the Uruguayan team to greet his great friend.
