More than a year ago, Luis Núñez, former player of Universitario de Deportes, escaped, after the Chilean justice ordered his arrest as a suspect of murder. Now, from hiding, he declared to the newspaper 'El Mercurio'.
"I am very sad, they buried my father and I could not be present. I had to say goodbye through the camera of a cell phone. All because I am a fugitive from justice, without having anything to do with the case they are looking for me. It is very painful (...) A damn lie has me on the run. I have already paid for my past mistakes with four years and 64 days in jail," said the former player of Universitario.
"I live locked up like a rat, because justice and the police still cannot say that I have nothing to do with what they involved me in for no reason. I paid dearly for all my mistakes, but I have nothing to do with this. I swear on the memory of my father who just passed away," added the former player of the 'U'.
It is worth noting that Núñez is remembered by the fans of Universitario de Deportes. The Chilean excelled, amidst the irregular moment that the crema team was going through.
