The former coach of the Peruvian Women's Volleyball Team, Man Bok Park, died on Thursday after suffering a vascular disease. The 83-year-old Korean, who was hospitalized in recent days at the Almenara Hospital, is part of the most glorious history of volleyball in our country.

Man Bok Park took over as head coach of the Peruvian Women's Volleyball Team in 1974. As a coach, he led the team to a privileged position within the world of volleyball, achieving historic campaigns worldwide.

It is worth noting the Juvenile World Championship runner-up in Mexico 1981, the World Championship runner-up in Peru 1982, and the memorable silver medal in the Seoul 1988 Olympic Games.

In addition, he trained and coached great legends of the national volleyball such as Cecilia Tait, Gabriela Pérez del Solar, Natalia Málaga, Rosa García, Cenaida Uribe, Denisse Fajardo, among others from the Seoul 1988 generation.

"It is regrettable, it is painful that a person so important to all of us is practically dying. He was like a father to me, my family. He has been one of the most important people of my youth, my growth, my development as a woman," said Pérez del Solar about Man Bok Park.
