Hernán Crespo
gave an interview for Fox Sports Radio Argentina and there was a moment when he remembered that 1996 Copa Libertadores, which was River Plate's second title in the tournament against the same rival, América de Cali. But in the round of 16, they would face the Peruvian club Sporting Cristal, to which he scored an amazing 'chalaca' goal at the Monumental.
About that historic 'chalaca' goal against Sporting Cristal, Hernán Crespo recalled the following: " I was going to start for the near post and when the cross came to the back, I said: 'What do I do now?' and I tried to figure it out," said the former forward and current coach about that memorable play.
"I WOULD LOVE TO GO BACK TO THE MONUMENTAL AND BE PART OF THE RIVER WORLD" - Hernán Crespo clarified that he would like Gallardo to continue for a long time, but he did not hide his desire to have a chance. pic.twitter.com/KWNAw1cJQR

He also remembered when they lost in Lima by 2-1 but it was thanks to his goal that they narrowed the gap: "We were losing 2-0, a great beating and I was on the bench and Ramón (Díaz) put me in and I scored the 2-1," added the Argentine forward.
"That Sporting Cristal team was the Peruvian national team. It was difficult with Julinho, (Flavio) Maestri, 'Chorri' Palacios, it was really tough," added Hernán Crespo.
Finally, Sporting Cristal would not qualify thanks to a 6-4 aggregate in favor of River Plate, as they won by 5-2 at the Monumental against the celestial team, who would be the tournament runner-up the following year.
