Javier Arce leaves Binacional: "Thanks for the applause and warmth of your people"
He achieved a historic title, but couldn't finish the year. Javier Arce announced this Tuesday his departure from Binacional in Juliaca, with which he won the Torneo Apertura of Liga 1 and remains undefeated in the Clausura. The reasons were not explained, but the coach left an emotional message on Facebook.
"Goodbye Juliaca, Puno. I leave with applause and smiles, after winning the Torneo Apertura. Thank you for the applause and warmth of your people," the coach wrote on his Facebook account.
"To the team of players, eternally grateful for their commitment and dedication every day. Without you, nothing would have been possible. We achieved what no one believed, Binacional champion 2019!" Javier Arce concluded.
With Javier Arce, Deportivo Binacional not only won the Torneo Apertura title and qualified for the national title definition of Liga 1, but also secured a place in the next Copa Libertadores 2020. In the final quadrangular, they must determine whether they will go to the qualifying phase or to the group stage.
With Javier Arce, Binacional achieved a total of 12 victories, 6 draws and 5 losses in the year, which earned them the first title of the season and left the team in ninth place in the Clausura, just a few points away from the leader. In the Copa Bicentenario, they were eliminated in the round of 16 in the penalty shootout.
