The Peruvian forward Claudio Pizarro received the honorary award from the German Football League for his successful and long career wearing the jerseys of Bayern Munich, Werder Bremen, and Cologne.
The ceremony took place in Berlin and was accompanied by Thomas Schaaf, the first coach that the Peruvian had when he arrived in German football, who declared that Claudio was "a complete player, with great technique and quality in all situations of the game."
"The bombardier of the Andes" at 40 years old is the oldest football player and the foreign player with more than 400 matches in the first division of Germany, scoring more than 200 goals.
