Peruvian national team coach praises Claudio Pizarro
The Technical Director of the Peruvian national team, Ricardo Gareca, spoke about Werder Bremen striker Claudio Pizarro, whom he referred to as a highly professional player, and he mentioned that he would have liked to have him under his command when he was at the peak of his career.
Gareca stated, "Claudio is an ambassador for Peru, we have words of respect and gratitude for the time I had him, although unfortunately we had him in the last stage of his career. It wasn't my turn, I would have liked to have him in his best moment."
The popular 'Tigre' continued and said that Claudio was one of his players when he was in the final stage of his career and he pointed out that he never managed to have "continuity stability".
Gareca also expressed that he has always had "admiration for Claudio" at a professional level. When we had him, we were able to see his professional level. Sometimes, one is luckier with one player than another. With him, unfortunately, I caught him in a time when he was already older and with some discomfort. He never managed to have that stability. Claudio never achieved that continuity stability, so we had to choose not to call him up."
