The Technical Study Group (TSG) of CONMEBOL, composed of Nery Pumpido, Dorival, Julio Baldivieso, Cesar Farías, Daniel Bañales, Ever Almeida, Gerardo Pelusso, and Francisco Maturana, the last two with a past in Peruvian football, were in charge of the selection.
The ideal team of the 2019 Copa America features the names of Peruvian players Paolo Guerrero and Miguel Trauco. Both players had an outstanding performance in the campaign that led the 'Blanquirroja' to second place.
The 'Canarinha', champions of the Copa America for the ninth time in history, had five players included by the Technical Study Group, who participated in all 26 matches of the tournament.
