Javier Zanetti believes that Peru has chances of beating France. The former Argentine football player spoke with RPP Noticias and stated that he has confidence that Ricardo Gareca's team will win their next two matches to secure their place in the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
"I liked Peru very much. I regret that they didn't win the match against Denmark because I know Ricardo Gareca very well, I know how professional he is and everything he has given to Peruvian football. I trust that Peru will win these two matches and qualify, hopefully it will be for the people who have come from Peru. I think they can play against France equally, I wish Peru all the luck in the world," said Zanetti.
Furthermore, the Inter Milan legend referred to the start of this World Cup and highlighted how teams with fewer chances of being protagonists have performed well so far against the top teams.
"There is a lot of balance in this World Cup. I think very prepared teams have come to be able to counteract what the powerhouses are, and that is what we are seeing in the first part of this World Cup," Zanetti concluded.
