Luis Enrique Chávez Basagoitia, Peru's ambassador to Switzerland, confirmed that Paolo Guerrero missed the Amsterdam to Zurich flight, where he will have a meeting with FIFA president Gianni Infantino on Tuesday.
"That's what his lawyer informs me, there has been a connection problem and he has not been able to take the initially scheduled flight. So he must board the flight to Zurich at 9 pm and arrive here at 10.30 pm Swiss time. We have a 7-hour difference with Lima at the moment," he explained on RPP.

He added: "Until now, I must specify that I have not talked to Paolo Guerrero, I am in contact with his lawyer. We have arranged a meeting for tonight. Paolo Guerrero must specifically state what kind of assistance he requires from the embassy and the government and to what extent the government's action before FIFA can be useful for the solution of his case."
Chávez Basagoitia assured that they have every intention of helping Guerrero: "I have the broadest instructions to provide him with all the support that is in my hands, but it has to be support that responds to a specific request. Whatever is in our hands will be done."
About a possible interim measure from the Swiss Federal Tribunal in the case of Paolo Guerrero, the ambassador commented: "Yes, I have been informed that under certain circumstances, when there is a risk of irreparable harm, they have taken interim measures. But we have to be clear that the legal foundation has to be solid and there is a time problem here."
