The future of Facundo Oreja in Gimnasia
The arrival of Pedro Troglio to Gimnasia, pushed by the momentum of Indio Ortíz who changed the face of the team in the last three matches, changed the situation for many players in Gimnasia who were planning to move on. One of them is Facundo Oreja, who a month ago announced that he didn't plan to renew his contract with the club. This statement was made by the right back after the 23rd round match of the Superliga against Atlético Tucumán at El Bosque.
However, for Troglio, Oreja is one of his trusted players and one of the few remaining from the squad that achieved promotion to the Primera Division in the 2012/13 season. Troglio convinced him to join Gimnasia from Ferro Carril Oeste and now wants to change his mind so that he stays with the club.
For the 35-year-old defender, his cycle at Gimnasia has come to an end and other clubs are already starting to tempt him. One of them is recently promoted Aldosivi (where he emerged and played from 2002 to 2008), which is coached by Gustavo Álvarez.
On his part, Oreja does not see this opportunity with bad eyes as it would give him the chance to return to his hometown.
However, we will have to wait and hope that the seductive power of "Peter" can change the mind of the Mar del Plata native and he continues to wear the tripera jersey.
