Herbalife Ironman 70.3 Peru

For the second consecutive year, the Herbalife Ironman 70.3 Peru took place, one of the most important triathlon competitions worldwide, which brought together the best athletes from all countries. Cyril Viennot (men) and Sarah Piampiano (women) were the great winners of the competition, after winning in the PRO category.

Great event

The Costa Verde hosted thousands of athletes who arrived early to Chorrillos to start this event. The starting point of the Ironman 70.3 Peru was Agua Dulce beach, where the 1.9 kilometers of swimming, 90 kilometers of cycling, and finally, 21.1 kilometers of running took place. The best athletes came together to participate and finish this test, which is undoubtedly one of the most demanding worldwide.

In the men's PRO category, the great winner was the French Cyril Viennot (3 h 47 m 19 s); followed by Andy Potts (30 seconds behind), winner of the last competition; while Mario de Elías finished in third place.

Women's power

In the women's category, the American Sarah Piampiano (4 h 15 m 8 s) took the victory in the top division, followed by Kelsey Withrow and Romina Palacio. At the end of the triathlon, the top competitors in the different divisions were awarded spots for the Ironman 70.3 World Championship, which will be held this year in South Africa. For the second consecutive year, the Ironman 70.3 was a success, where the best international athletes traveled through the streets of Lima.
