Note about Universitario de Deportes' trip to Cajabamba

"Honestly, it was a crazy trip, something like this has never happened to me before", said Pedro Troglio about the alleged hardships that Universitario de Deportes had to go through to reach Cajabamba, a province in Cajamarca where they played against UTC last Sunday.

"I can tell you that the journey was very difficult. We really struggled to get there", Horacio Benincasa added. "The problem is the trip, the route, and there is nowhere to stay overnight there", Aldo Corzo complemented.

Knowing that all these expressions affect the image of their province, especially in terms of tourism, the authorities of that Cajamarca community issued a statement denying the claims made by the Universitario team.

"The Provincial Municipality of Cajabamba categorically denies that the Cajamarca-Cajabamba road is in a poor condition as has been claimed", reads the statement.

"Likewise, it refutes the claim that the city does not have hotels. On the contrary, Cajabamba is a city that is visited throughout the year due to its various cultural, artistic, and religious activities", the document points out.

Finally, in a paragraph that is not very clear, mention is made of a supposed campaign (orchestrated by the Universitario team?) to discredit the aforementioned province of Cajamarca.

"We urge the community not to be fooled by these statements that lend themselves to a dirty campaign against a beautiful city that welcomes all tourists and visitors with great affection".
