Chilean Nationalized Forward Cris Martínez receives red card in Liga MX

The Chilean nationalized forward and former player of Universitario de Deportes slipped and hit Rodrigo Salinas, received a red card, and then took out his frustration against the dressing room door.

Things haven't been going well for Cris Martínez in Liga MX. The former Universitario de Deportes forward has been unable to secure a spot in the Santos Laguna starting lineup and yesterday he wasted another chance to impress his coach.

The striker entered the game with twenty minutes left when Santos were losing 2-0 against Toluca at Nemesio Díez and had no major impact until the end, when he received a red card for a hard tackle on Rodrigo Salinas, caused by his slip on the field.

Despite his explanations, the decision couldn't be overturned and Cris Martínez left the pitch with his head down. Later, upon entering the dressing room, he punched the visitor's dressing room door and injured his hand, causing damage to the door.

The image was widely shared on social media in Mexico and the player is at the center of controversy, not only for the destruction, but also for the self-inflicted injury to his hand.
