The problems are starting to become bigger than Universitario de Deportes. The team is going out of one problem to enter another and in just three days it has already received two heavy fines from Conmebol.
This time the team was punished again by the Conmebol Disciplinary Tribunal and $3,000 will be deducted from the concept of television rights and sponsorship that it earned by participating in the Copa Libertadores.

On Friday, February 9th, the same tribunal had already fined the team with $5,000 and a warning that if the offense is repeated, it will be considered as an aggravating situation.

"Impose a fine of $3,000 (three thousand dollars) on the Universitario de Deportes club. The amount of this fine will be automatically deducted from the amount to be received by the Universitario de Deportes club from Conmebol, for television rights or sponsorship," this was part of the statement issued by Conmebol.

The statement does not provide further details about the offense committed by the team, however, it was reported that the proceeding was opened due to the use of pyrotechnics by the team's fans in the match against Oriente Petrolero in Bolivia.
