Defender of Deportivo Municipal, Adrián Zela, stated that his goal for 2018 is to be called up to the Peruvian national team for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
"It is a very special year for Peruvian football in general, we are all aware that there will be more international attention on the local championship. In addition, there are players abroad who are performing well. I think that is important and, personally, my biggest goal is to be considered for the World Cup. I know that the only way to do that is to play a large number of matches in the tournament and for that I have to train very hard, I want to be in good form to contribute to the team and secure a spot in Russia," said Adrián Zela on GOLPERÚ.

"Coming out of preseason, we want to accumulate as many matches as the one we had with Alianza in order to arrive at the tournament in the best form, which is the most important thing. The things we work on always come to light in these matches, either in a negative or positive way. And it is even more important considering that we are facing the champion from last year," added the defender.
