University of Sports is unable to sign players for the entire 2018 season, and although they will take the case to the TAS to try to reverse this situation, in the meantime they will have to focus on building a team with what they have at hand. That is, they need to concentrate on renewing the contract of the usual starters under Pedro Toglio.

Juan Carlos Ortecho, manager of the team, spoke about negotiations with Juan Manuel Vargas, Alberto Rodríguez, and Carlos Cáceda: "Alberto Rodríguez always takes his time, we hope it can be resolved in the next few days. We will also talk to Vargas."

"We have talked to Cáceda but we have not reached an agreement, his contract ends at the end of the month," he added about the goalkeeper of University of Sports.

Ortecho also explained that the negotiation for the transfer of Alexi Gómez to Mexican football is very well underway.

"The deal with Alexi (Gómez) to Atlas is not closed but it is very close, the agreement with University of Sports is ready for the loan. The remaining issue was the arrangement between Atlas and the player, that has taken a few days but I understand that it is in the final stages," he said.
