FIFA still hasn't reached a final resolution on the case of the adverse analytical result of Peruvian forward Paolo Guerrero. Meanwhile, Flamengo continues to fulfill its financial obligations with the player.
According to the Brazilian portal "Extra", the Brazilian club considers the possibility of initiating legal actions against the Peruvian Football Federation (FPF), as they still consider them the only ones responsible for the possible contamination with the metabolite found in a tea ingested by the player.

In case a six-month to one-year sanction is confirmed against Guerrero, the club would consider the possibility of terminating the player's contract by mutual agreement.
The national striker has a contract with 'Mengao' until August 2018. Before this doping case arose, there were already discussions about renewing his contract.
Apart from the economic and contractual aspects, Flamengo regrets the absence of Paolo Guerrero on the pitch. 'Mengao' will play the Copa Sudamericana final against Independiente de Avellaneda.
