During the special coverage being carried out by Panamericana Televisión exclusively from Wellington, to provide details of the upcoming match between the Peruvian national team and New Zealand, our team was unexpectedly attacked.

Omar Ruiz de Somocurcio, Panamericana's special correspondent, was commenting from New Zealand when he was interrupted by two intoxicated individuals who entered the scene and began the aggression.

The Director of Teledeportes stated that the individuals harassed the cameraman and, after pushing him, broke the light stand used for live broadcasts. Afterwards, they entered a nearby establishment to continue their work, but the harassment persisted.

He also mentioned that the fans had been following them for several blocks until they finally entered the establishment. The manager of the establishment even sent one of their employees to interrupt the broadcast.

Panamericana Televisión condemns the acts of violence against our team led by Omar Ruiz de Somocurcio, who had been covering the prelude to the match between Peru and New Zealand in Wellington.
