The fever for the white and red team is already beginning to take hold of the Peruvian fans. On Twitter, even the biggest stars of our country have already put on the shirt to cheer on our boys in their key match against Argentina for the qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
This was the case of national tenor Juan Diego Flórez, who from his Twitter account joined in to give a voice of encouragement to Ricardo Gareca's team in the best way he knows how: through his prodigious voice and artistic talent.
"Peru champion! Come on guys, let's win!" Juan Diego wrote on Twitter. The message also includes a video where, with a guitar in hand, he sings his own version of 'Peru champion', the classic polka that Félix Goytizolo composed around 1970.
The renowned international tenor has replaced in the song's lyrics the old Peruvian lineup that competed in the 1970 Mexico World Cup qualifiers, changing it for the names of Gallese, Trauco, Farfán, Guerrero, and company.
In the last hours, an updated version of Peru Champion by the criollo group 'Los Ardiles' has also been popularized.
