The Melanio Coloma Stadium in Bellavista presents a medium risk
The sports venue is currently used by the Alianza Atlético de Sullana Club for its home matches, and on September 13, it will host Universitario de Deportes, an event that expects to accommodate a large number of fans in a stadium with a capacity of 1400 people, making it a high-risk event.
For this reason, on August 31, in the morning, Dr. Berena Ballesteros Vigíl, Crime Prevention Prosecutor of the Public Ministry (Sullana), together with personnel from the Provincial Municipality of Sullana and the District Municipality of Bellavista, carried out an inspection of the mentioned stadium where they found several deficiencies that, if not addressed in time, put the realization of the event at risk as it represents a danger to the attending audience and players.
According to the results report of the Public Ministry, deficiencies in the electrical wiring were observed in both the home and visiting team changing rooms, which are exposed and pose a danger to the players, while the area designated for the concentration of the players is used as a storage room.
Lack of sanitation is another deficiency found in the inspection, as a considerable amount of solid waste, deteriorated blind covers, and sinking floors were observed, including one of the changing rooms being a refuge for a dog and her newborn puppies.
In the stands, the inspectors noticed a separation that endangers the integrity of the attendees, as well as the lack of fire extinguishers on the sides. At the entrance to the sports venue, a drainage cover was found that is not properly placed.
Furthermore, in the restroom area, according to the report, it was observed that they are also used as storage and are far from the stands area.
Finally, the inspectors from the Civil Defense of the Sullana Municipality concluded that the mentioned stadium presents a medium risk, considering that the inspection was carried out at a time when no sports event is taking place.
