Paolo Guerrero's absence worries Teófilo Cubillas ahead of Peru vs. Bolivia match
Teófilo Cubillas is concerned about Paolo Guerrero's absence in the match between the Peruvian National Team and Bolivia. It is a crucial match for Ricardo Gareca's team to stay alive in the Russia 2018 Qualifiers. That's why 'Nene' recommended 'Tigre' to play with two forwards to replace the 'Predator'.
"He alone can create difficulties for the four defenders of the opponents. That is my concern to know who will be able to replace him. It will be Gareca's job and surely it will be difficult for him to replace him with just one player [against Bolivia]. Maybe we have to modify something in the team and use two forwards to fulfill Paolo's duties," said Cubillas to Movistar Deportes.
In that sense, the champion of the 1975 Copa America referred again to Paolo Guerrero's record as top scorer of the Peruvian National Team. The Flamengo's star surpassed the three-time World Cup player with the 'bicolor' in terms of goals.
"I was the first to congratulate him, I told him. Wow, it fills me with pride that a guy like him. The truth is that I enjoy so much what he does on the field. He is a player that doesn't surprise me, because I already knew him," added 'El Nene'.
It's worth noting that the Peruvian National Team will face Bolivia on August 31st. The match would be played at the National Stadium, but the 'Plan B' is the Monumental Stadium.
