Peruvian Soccer: Striker Statistics in Debt

With 7 matches played in the Apertura Tournament, the statistics of some of the forwards of the most popular teams in Peruvian football are still in debt. August could mark the farewell of some of them.

Germán Pacheco:

The Alianza Lima forward scored against Universitario de Deportes in the first classic of the year. The Argentine attacker, who came from Asian football with many doubts about his performance, had a successful spell with Juan Aurich years ago, but the numbers don't help him with Alianza. He hasn't been playing as a '9' like he did with the northern team. Pablo Bengoechea has him playing as a forward on the outside and his presence in the area is not noticeable. Today he is a substitute, far from being a starter. In 14 matches played, 11 as a starter and 3 as a substitute, he has scored a meager 3 goals.

Hernán Rengifo:

He started the year as a starter when Universitario de Deportes was still under the guidance of Roberto Chale. With the arrival of Pedro Troglio, the 'Charapa' was once again taken into account in the starting XI, as the pressure from the forward was important in the Argentine coach's strategy. Hernán played 4 matches and did not score. Luis Tejada was patient on the bench, Pedro gave him the opportunity and the Peruvian has not been taken into account until now. He has only played 2 matches in June and has yet to score a goal.

Diego Ifrán:

He made his second appearance of the year. The Uruguayan's chances of renewal in August are almost impossible due to his lack of continuity caused by injuries. Del Solar, who requested him for this year, is no longer the coach of Sporting Cristal, and with Pablo Zegarra seeming to trust more in the duo of Ray Sandoval and Irven Ávila, his stay is complicated. He has played 8 out of the 20 matches played this year. He has only scored 3 goals.

Rolando Blackburn:

The Panamanian has a situation similar to Diego Ifrán. The only difference is that he has had continuity but has failed to score. He came to be the top scorer and has only scored 3 goals. He would suffer the same fate as Ifrán and say goodbye to Peru in 1 month.
