The Peruvian national team will travel to Ciudad del Este on Tuesday, September 5th, where they will begin to concentrate for the match in the first round of the qualifiers against their counterparts from Paraguay. Both teams will seek to get the three points to start their participation in the FIFA match dates on the right foot.
One of the details that caught the most attention in this round was the change of venue for the match. Initially, it was going to be played at Defensores del Chaco, but now the match will move to the sports coliseum Antonio Aranda. The last time the locals played there was in the penultimate round of the qualifiers for Qatar, when they managed to beat Ecuador 3-1.
Although it could be considered a 'good luck charm' for the locals, Radio Ovación reached the outskirts of the sports venue and shared a video on their social media where the precarious infrastructure in the surroundings of Antonio Aranda can be seen.
In the video disseminated by the aforementioned media, the exteriors of the stadium can be seen, where it seems to have been affected by the current climatic conditions of the country.
Why did Paraguay change the venue for the match against Peru?
In response to the question about the change of venue, former Paraguayan national team player Julio César Romero gave his opinion on this decision and stated that the president of the APF, Robert Harrison, would be afraid of losing again at Defensores del Chaco.
"I think the president of the Paraguayan Football Association is afraid of a negative result at Defensores del Chaco. I think it has more to do with that. He is afraid because Defensores del Chaco is a much nicer stadium than the one in Ciudad del Este," said the former soccer player.
