"The Uruguayan Football Association invites the media to the launch of the candidacy of Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, and Uruguay as host countries for the FIFA 2030 World Cup", reads the official statement.

The event where the bid will be launched will take place at the Centenario Stadium on August 2, 2022. "Among other authorities, the president of CONMEBOL, Alejandro Domínguez, will be present along with the presidents of the four football federations of the applicant countries and their respective sports ministers,” the statement concludes.

The South American nations would like to call it 'Together 2030' (similar to United 2026 organized by the United States, Mexico, and Canada), in which they seek to celebrate the 100 years of the First World Cup, which took place in Uruguay in 1930.

Pablo Milad, president of the ANFP (Chile), did not hide his satisfaction with this launch. "Happy for the excitement we have in proposing this to FIFA, also accompanied by the fact that it's the 100th anniversary of the first World Cup held in Uruguay. This is a significant support to give strength and conviction to this bid," he said on TNT Sports.
