Nicolás González, forward for VfB Stuttgart, scored his second goal with the Argentine national team in the same number of matches. The attacker opened the scoring in the match against Peru for the fourth round of the South American qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
Around the 17th minute of the first half at the Estadio Nacional in Lima, Giovani Lo Celso broke through on the left side of the Albiceleste attack, dodging Aldo Corzo's mark, and delivered the ball to Nicolás González.
The 22-year-old striker, who emerged from Argentinos Juniors, controlled the ball and took a powerful left-footed shot that was impossible for Pedro Gallese to save, who received his ninth goal in the qualifiers.
González had scored his first goal with the Argentine national team in the 1-1 draw against Paraguay in the previous qualifying match.
