Defensa y Justicia vs Santos: Brazilians won by 2-1
Juan Rodríguez scored the first goal with a header in the last play of the first half, but Jobson and Kaio Jorge, who entered in the second half, scored at 72 and 86 minutes to give the victory to the visitors.
Although he didn't score, the standout for the Brazilians was Venezuelan forward Yeferson Sotelo.
The Falcon, who played the Copa Libertadores for the first time in history, showed a vertiginous and frenetic game, especially in the first half.
The home team pressed and quickly attacked the opposing goal every time they had the ball.
At 35 minutes, the post prevented Neri Cardozo from scoring the 1-0 with a shot from outside the area after a great collective play. The ball then hit Éverson's back and went over the crossbar, much to Santos' relief.
In the last play of the first half, Rodríguez put Defensa y Justicia ahead on the scoreboard by scoring with a header after a corner kick from the right side of the attack.
In the second half, El Halcón (The Falcon) decreased the intensity a little but didn't give up the lead. Despite not attacking as much as in the first half, they maintained possession in the middle of the field.
Santos could have scored at 62 minutes, but Yuri Alberto's header grazed the post.
At 72 minutes, Soteldo sent a precise cross from the left side of the attack that Jobson turned into a goal with a powerful header.
The goal awakened the home team, who had lowered their intensity in the final minutes.
However, two minutes before the end, Jorge took hold of a loose ball in the center of the field and faced Luis Unsain, who couldn't prevent the goal of the 18-year-old youth player.
The other members of Group G are the Ecuadorian Delfín and the Paraguayan Olimpia.
In the next matchday, Santos will host Delfín on March 10th, and Defensa y Justicia will visit Olimpia the next day.
