The director of Liga MX Femenil commented that recent modifications in the owners' assembly allow the sector to find sustainability paths
The director of the Liga MX Femenil, Mariana Gutierrez, commented that the goal is to "independ" from men's soccer to create their own resources and be a sustainable championship.
"The men's league is one brand and the women's league is another; what is your segmentation? Reviewing that could generate many sources of income, which will be reflected economically. We can see it in the United States, after taking more than 30 years ahead of us. Kansas City is going to build its women's stadium, that's what we mean by being independent," said Mariana Gutierrez, director of the Liga MX Femenil.
At the Third International Congress of Sports and Physical Culture, organized by the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mariana Gutierrez commented that the recent modifications in the Assembly of Owners of the Liga MX allow the women's sector to find other ways to seek sustainability.
"There has always been controversy between sport and business model. At the professional league level, you do need to generate income and it must be sustainable income; sponsorships are necessary. One of the purposes of the Liga MX Femenil is to be sustainable. One of the great actions was due to the arrival of Commissioner Juan Carlos Rodriguez, as today the Liga MX Femenil is sitting at the table for the first time and has the right to vote," explained Mariana Gutierrez.
Gutierrez added that the modifications that have taken place in Mexican soccer open the opportunity for the women's division to seek independence and have its own resources to make it sustainable. She also emphasized the "protocol against harassment and harassment" that is being formulated in the Liga MX Femenil.
"One of the things that I consider myself fortunate to work in the Liga MX Femenil is to generate very specific actions to reduce inequalities. The league has taught us many things that were not open to dialogue for a hundred years.
"Thanks to many of these inequalities, we now have an inclusion and diversity project, which has shown us several aspects: the main one is the protocol against harassment and harassment. We realized that there are few leagues in women's football that have an action plan against harassment and harassment, we have resorted to experts, to the best," concluded.
